Elixir (100ml)

Elixir is the most layered fragrance in the Maison range. The opening starts bright with mandarin orange, lychee, and cassis, a juicy-fresh combination that reads slightly tart, slightly floral, and a touch unexpected. Cassis brings the unusual dimension. Most fruity openings stop at citrus and stone-fruit; this one pushes into berry territory in the first ten minutes.

The middle phase moves into water lily, peony, and jasmine. Three flowers that work softly together, the floral heart neither leads nor follows the fruit. It simply layers in. By the third hour the base appears, and that's where the fragrance becomes interesting. Oak moss, vanilla, musk, praline, and ambroxan together create a slightly gourmand, slightly mossy, slightly sweet drydown. Praline gives it caramelised warmth. Ambroxan extends the trail without being aggressive about it. Oak moss keeps it grounded.

Bottled at 20% perfume-oil concentration, wear time runs eight to ten hours on skin and longer on fabric. Projection is moderate to strong in the first ninety minutes, then close-range for the rest of the day.
